Alma (Jane) Smith, 104, Russell County, KY (1910-2014)

She was born in Russell County, KY, in 1910. She was a resident of he county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Otha & Vada Wilson Blair. She was a life long member of Clear Fork Baptist Church, where she served in various positions. She was also a member of Russell County Hospital Auxillary for many years. Alma was a homemaker. She was the widow of Marty Smith.

Alma "Jane" Smith, 104, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. Funeral service for Alma "Jane" Smith will be 1pmCT, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Joe Sullivan officiating. Visitation after 8amCT, Wednesday. Burial in the McBeath Cemetery. Special music will be by Jo Nell Smith, Robin Riddle, Brenda Root, Donna Floyd.



Pallbearers: Charles M. Smith, Jackie Blair, Jimmy Smith, Steve Thomas, Danny Blair, and Stan Thomas.

Alma (Jane) Smith, 104, Russell County, KY (1910-2014)

She was born September 4, 1910 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Otha & Vada Wilson Blair. She died Sunday, October 26, 2014, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 104 years, one month and 22 days.

She was a life long member of Clear Fork Baptist Church, where she served in various positions. She was also a member of Russell County Hospital Auxillary for many years. Alma was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marty Smith; 4 sisters, Lois Smythe, Velma Smith Robertson, Noba Bottom, Wilma Thomas; and three brothers, Richard, Hobert, and J.C. Blair. Survivors include the following:
  • One brother: Paul (Doris) Blair, Russell Springs, KY

  • One sister: Betty Smith, Russell Springs, KY

  • A host of step grandchildren, great & great great grandchildren and many neices and nephews
