Reuling Stadium. The Blue Raiders (10-2-1, 5-0-1 in the MSC) clinch the top seed in next month’s conference tournament with one game remaining in the conference’s regular season. Seniors Elijah Ukpong and Tom Moody led the Blue Raider attack that closed the match out-shooting the visitors 15-7, including 6-0 in shots on target. Ukpong scored twice and added an assist in the match while Moody added a pair of assists in the win. Keletso Mosime and Ukpong scored 31 seconds apart in the 88th minute to break open a 1-0 game. Mosime scored from the left side of the penalty area into the roof of the net off Ukpong’s second assist of the season to give Lindsey Wilson a 2-0 lead. Thirty-one seconds later Ukpong dashed any hopes for a Pikeville (2-6, 0-4) upset with his second goal of the night and his third of the season. Moody started the scoring play with a precision pass down the right flank. Ukpong raced past the UPike defender and hit a blast past Bear goalkeeper Diego Rivas to push the lead to 3-0. The Blue Raiders improve to 12-0 all-time against the Bears with the win. Lindsey Wilson took a 1-0 lead into the half thanks to the combination of Ukpong and Moody. Ukpong netted the go-ahead goal in the 27th minute off a Moody cross that ricocheted off an UPike defender deep inside the 18-yard box. Ukpong collected the ball and sent it past Rivas for the 1-0 lead. Rivas finished the game allowing all three goals while collecting three saves. Lindsey Wilson keeper Dalyan Hawes posted his sixth shutout of the season. Prior to the win, seven men’s soccer seniors were honored during Senior Night festivities. Moody, Mosime, Ukpong, Yazeed Davids, Trevor McGahan, Renan Serafim and Leander Zapheriou were recognized for their dedication to the Lindsey Wilson program.
