Small business person gives concern on Payroll Tax

These comments was received from a small business owner, whose identity is being withheld to avoid any possible retributions from anyone in authority:
"My impression is that the city decided not to ask the certain employers to withhold the tax but still hold those workers responsible for directly paying it. "My own concern is the bookkeeping burdens fall too heavily on small businesses. I wouldn't open a small shop facing the bookkeeping nightmare. I wish they had had an exemption on that."
The thoughts are similar to those expressed by other small businesspeople, tradespersons, and others in family business about what they see as their biggest objection, the bookkeeping and accounting costs, and the time many consider will be wasted, all of which will add up to a multiple of the tax they will owe. - CM
