ADAIR Band will take the field without beloved leader

This year we are not only ADAIR but Team Case: Not only is the event stacked with numerous State Finalist and Champions from different classes, more importantly, it will be the first time they take the field without their beloved leader Tom Case, who underwent cancer surgery Monday . . . and the kids miss him more than words can say. But Mr. Case, in his usual selfless manner, made sure the band will have the most capable leadership to be found, Mr. Bob Gregg, who has countless state championships to his name, to provide guidance during last night's; Mr.Tim Allen, true to the qualities which made him a giant in Adair County History, was on hand as well. For Mr. Case and for the high school, and for Adair County, we're all hoping there will be an Adair County Football victory Friday night, and an ADAIR Grand Championship on Saturday in Richmond - and, you know what? With the depth of the Tradition of Excellence - it's possible - Shamarie

News from ADAIR Band

The ADAIR band will be heading out to Madison Central High School tomorrow to compete in this season's final competition before they start their bid towards state.

It will be the largest and most competitive competition of the season.

Competitors at the Madison Central Tournament of Bands include Beechwood, Fleming County, Lewis County, Russell Independent, Washington County, Boyle County, East Jessamine, Madison Southern, Grant County, George Rogers Clark, Tates Creek, Ryle, and Paul Laurence Dunbar.

It will be a hard competition for the students on many fronts.

Not only is the event stacked with numerous State Finalist and Champions from different classes, more importantly, it will be the first time they take the field without their beloved leader Tom Case, who underwent surgery for prostate cancer this past Monday.

With many prayers he is progressing in his recovery and has received the best prognosis possible, which is the cancer was contained.

Yet, the students miss him more than words can say. Mr. Case being the teacher and leader he is, has provided the students with excellent clinicians during his recovery.

Last night, the ADAIR Band family totally fell in love with Mr. Bob Gregg who is a retired Head Band Director with his last post being Williamstown.

He has countless state championships of his own, is a revered judge, and it just so happens that he was Mr. Case's Band Director from his alma mater Harrison County High School.

He refers to Mr. Case as Tommy, which the children truly enjoy!

He was joined later in the evening by our own Tim Allen.

We are confident the ADAIR Band will do their very best tomorrow and leave their hearts on the field, not only for themselves, but for the man that has become the heart of our current program.

This year we are not only ADAIR but Team Case. - Shamarie
