About: African Grey Parrott missing. Answers to Rico Posted 6 Oct 2014.

By Scott Hope

My African Grey Parrot has been found ! He flew to Bobby England at the State Park yesterday and was returned this morning.

One tough bird. He went missing Sunday when the temperature dropped and made it through two nights of hailstorms, and he is missing a small chunk out of his head!

He will be fine and he is currently in his cage and eating his peanuts, he looks a bit tired out but he will be fine !

A Huge Thank you goes out to Bobby England for his safe return to us ! And to ColumbiaMagazine.com for the help finding him! - Scott Hope

Thanks, Scott Hope: You've made our day here at CM, not only knowing there is a man out there Rico instantly trusted, like Bobby England, but also for your fascinating account of his saga. Sounds pretty frightening to have gone through what he did. One person we talked to said there is a Disney movie here, waiting for the big screen. Surely there's at least a country music song! Just wish we had a picture of him with his peanuts, of another with a similar soul, who can also be happy just eating peanuts. - ED

Rico the long missing (4 days) African Grey Parrott safely home

2014-10-10 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Scott Hope. Rico the African Grey Parrott is back at the Hope home, after a four day adventure in the wilds around the Roadside Park on KY 55 S Road. "One tough bird," Scott Hope writes. "He went missing Sunday when the temperature dropped and made it through two nights of hailstorms, and he is missing a small chunk out of his head! . . . He will be fine and he is currently in his cage and eating his peanuts, he looks a bit tired out but he will be fine!" That's all thanks to Rico flying to Bobby England, who recognized him and knew exactly who to call. - CM
