Orpha Foley, 94, of Jamestown, KY, passed away September 28, 2014 at the Russell County Hospital in Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014 1pmCT, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY with Bro. Ed Parton officiating. Friends may visit after 10amCT on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial in the Jamestown City Cemetery, N Main Street, Jamestown, KY.


Orpha Foley, 94, Russell County, KY (1920-2014)

Orpha was born in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY on Wednesday, September 1, 1920. She was a daughter of the late Lola (Flanagan) and Alonzo McGowan. She died September 28, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 94 years, 27 days.

She was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church.

She was a Homemaker.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Loretta Cook of Jamestown, KY

  • Four sons: Ralph (Mary Ann) Foley of Nashville, TN; Alben (Janet) Foley of Jamestown, KY; Gibson (Patsy) Foley of Jamestown, KY; Harry (Sandra) Foley of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Velma Flatt of Jamestown, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Fourteen great grandchildren
Orpha was preceded in death by her parents, husband Velmer Foley;; two brothers Finis and J. C. McGowan; five sisters Lavonia Grider, Pearl Helm, Ada Stephens, Dean Shepherd and Joyce Keltner.

Family request memorial donations to the Jamestown United Methodist Church and can be made at the funeral home.
