LWC Volleyball hosts Pikeville in Mid-South Conference matchup

COLUMBIA, KY - The No. 12-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team hosts the University of Pikeville (KY) on Monday night 29 Sep 2014 at 6pmCT in Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.



The Blue Raiders (17-2, 4-0 MSC) enter the match after recording a pair of wins over Michigan-Dearborn and Northwestern Ohio on Saturday. Lindsey Wilson swept the Wolverines 3-0 in the first match and followed with a 3-1 win over the Racers in the finale.

Nadelina Nesheva leads the team with 145 kills, followed closely by Sarah Shilling with 139. Sarah Anderson has 110 kills while Daryna Liutikova is has also reached the century mark with 100 kills on the year.

Makenzie Montano continues to lead the team in assists. The freshman has 490 assists while also accumulating 121 digs. Kirsten King leads the team with 159 digs on the year while Caitlyn Tino and Alexa Just have also recorded over 100 digs. Shilling has a team-high 41 blocks followed closely by Catie Cline with 38.

As a team, Lindsey Wilson's hitting percentage of .266 ranks No. 10 in the NAIA.

Pikeville (9-8, 0-6 MSC) enters tonight's match coming off a pair of wins over West Virginia Tech and Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) on Sept. 27.

The Bears are led by Chelsea Staples with 151 kills on the season. Sydney Morris leads with 504 assists and Caitlynn Pfaadt has 205 digs.

Lindsey Wilson swept both meetings last year between the teams.
