COLUMBIA, KY - The top-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team fell 3-1 to 11th-ranked University of Rio Grande (Ohio) on Saturday night, September 27, 2014, at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY.

Adis Islamovic scored the first goal of the game for the Blue Raiders (5-2-1) in the 20th minute. Tom Moody crossed a ball into the box that met Islamovic as he raced to the RedStorm goal, connecting on a header to give the Blue Raiders a 1-0 lead.

Rio Grande (6-1-2) was led by Pau Delgado Rodriguez who scored all three goals for Rio Grande. The first came as Rodriguez evened the game in the 36th minute when he kicked the ball into the net after maneuvering around a defender in the 18-yard box.

Rodriguez scored his second goal shortly after halftime in the 51st minute when he created separation from a defender and struck the ball into the back of the net.

The final Rodriguez goal came in the 75th minute and helped the RedStorm pull away. After a failed Lindsey Wilson clearance, Rodriguez took advantage as he collected the loose ball in the 18-yard box and beat the Blue Raider keeper for his third goal of the game.

Aleksi Pahkasalo led the Blue Raiders with four total shots, while Islamovic had three. Rodriguez totaled five shots and Luiz Filho added three. Goalkeeper Dalyan Hawes had four saves on the night and RedStorm goalkeeper Jon Dodson had two saves.

The physical game saw 36 total fouls, 18 to each team, along with nine total yellow cards.

Rio Grande had 12 total shots, while Lindsey Wilson had nine. The RedStorm added four corner kicks for the game and the Blue Raiders only took one.
