Yennifer Ramirez named MSC Volleyball Player of the Week

Ramirez is averaging 15 kills per match this season

COLUMBIA, KY -Yennifer Ramirez is the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday, September 22, 2104,. The weekly honor is Ramirez's first of the season and of her career.

The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native recorded back-to-back double-digit kills while hitting .286 in a pair of Lindsey Wilson wins.



Ramirez began the week with 12 kills, five digs and four blocks in the Blue Raiders 3-0 win at Cumberland (TN) on Tuesday. She followed that performance up with a career-high 19 kills and eight digs in Lindsey Wilson's 3-1 win over No. 12-ranked Georgetown (KY) on Friday.

Ramirez is averaging 4.5 kills per set this season in her three matches.

Ramirez joins teammate Makenzie Montano as a recipient of the award. Montano previously earned player of the week honors on September 2, 2014.

No. 22-ranked Lindsey Wilson improves to 14-2 on the season - including winning 10 straight - and leads the Mid-South with a 3-0 record following last week's play.Br>
The next MSC Player of the Week award is scheduled to be announced on Monday, September 29.
