Adair County Magisterial Districts/Rankings by miles of county roads:
  1. District 6 (Joe Rogers) - 120.74 miles
  2. District 4 (Perry Reeder) - 108.66 miles
  3. District 1 (Harold Burton) - 106.08 miles
  4. District 3 (Sammy Baker) - 90.06 miles
  5. District 5 (Billy Dean Coffey) - 72.77 miles
  6. District 2 (Daryl Flatt) - 59.72 miles
  7. District 7 (Billy Rowe) - 40.87 miles
How they fared in the Rep. Carney distribution
  1. District 7 (Billy Rowe) - Received 2.03 miles blacktopping Road rated "3" and did not qualify
  2. District 5 (Billy Dean Coffey)- Received 1.0 miles blacktopping
  3. District 1 (Harold Burton) - Received 0.91 miles blacktopping
  4. District 6 (Joe Rogers) - Received 0.55 miles blacktopping
  5. District 3 (Sammy Baker) - Received 0.32 miles blacktopping Road received a "3" rating and did not qualify.
  6. District 2 (Daryl Flatt) - Received 0.14 miles of blacktopping Road received a "3" rating and did not qualify.
  7. District 4 (Perry Reeder) - Received NO funds for blacktopping



Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton requested road projects from the same funds. These roads, except for Bennett Ridge Road, were never rated by the Kentucky Department of Highways.
  • Rooks Denton Road (CR1012) 925T, 5280' x variables 20' and 18' feet) $79,975 (CM note: In District 1, Harold Burton's district)
  • Junior Loy Road (CR1292) 789T. 5280; x (3 patches), $64,698. (CM note: In District 3, Sammy Baker's district)
  • Greenbrier Ridge Road (Cr 1202) 800T 5280' x 18', $65,600. (CM note: In District 4, Perry Reeder's district)
  • Bennett Ridge Road , (CR1328), 821T, 5280' x 16', $67,322. (CM note: In District 5, Billy Dean Coffey's district)

  • Taylor Ford Road (CR 1001) from JR Burton Road extending northwesterly ot KY 206 for approximately 2.03 Miles. (CM note: In District 7, Billy Rowe's district)
  • Marlo Campbell Road (Cr 1018) from Allen Schoolhouse Road extending northerly to the end of the county maintenance for approximately 0.91 mile (CM note: In District 1, Harold Burton's district)
  • Piercy Road (CR 1472) from KY 551 for approximately 0.55 miles (CM note: In District 6, Joe Roger's district)
  • Roy Road (CR 1163) from KY 80 extending southerly for approximately 0.14 miles.
  • Bennett Ridge Road West (CR1328) from KY 768 extending southwesterly for approximately 1.0 mile. (CM note: In District 5, Billy Dean Coffey's district)
NOTE: The issues become quite clear-cut when readers compare the roads in the two proposals, learn who lives on what roads, and decide for themselves which list is meeting a "most needed" standard, and which is playing politics. - ED WAGGENER.
