Bill Henson on Road Money Issue: Way it's always been

By Bill Henson
Personal Commentary

Ed, I truly don't understand the hoopla over the discretionary road money. This has been that way for years and especially so in an election year. When I lived on Buck Watson road it was chipped and sealed in good state of repair.

Kenny Isaacs was running against Vernie McGaha we got a call from magistrate Joe Rogers and he said we could get the road blacktopped if we would try and get as many of the votes on that road as possible for Kenny.

Being of the same party as Joe and Kenny this was no problem. The road was completed in late October before the election. So whatever money comes into the county and wherever it is spent should be welcomed, regardless of who gets the credit.
