Farmers Mkt on the SQ: Know Before You Go, Tues, Sept. 2, 2014

The Farmers Market on the Square is open Saturdays through October 25, 2014, from 8am-1pmCT and Tuesdays 4:30pm-7pmCT, AND NOW Tuesdays, 4:30pm-7pmCT, September 2 through October 25, 2014, at the Adair Annex Parking Lot, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY.

Here's the line up for the first ever Farmer's Market on the Square on Tuesday evenings from now until October 25, 2014. The market is inviting all the regular customers who make our Saturday FM2 such a success, and our customers who came to the evening session at the Adair Extension Office on Tuesday, to give this market a try. Remember, as always, vendors remain at the market until supplies are exhausted and close up shop if the weather gets too severe. Here's the line up for today:
  1. Caitlin Helm of Lonely Acre Farm 270-378-0576 - Zucchini Bread, Cranberry Carrot Bread. Lemon Bread. Honey Wheat Bread. White Bread. Hot Peppers. - Caitlin Helm
  2. Darrell Bunnell of Coview Farm 270-384-5412 - Tomatoes!!! Red. Yellow, and Purple. Yellow Squash. Green Peppers, grown with the assistance of Millie, the Coview Farms Wonder Dog. Okra. Potatoes - Darrell Bunnell
  3. Lisa and Jason Blackaby of Blackaby Hill Farm 270-535-5396 Blackaby Hill Farm will have Chicken Breast, Legs, Wings, Thighs, and some Whole Chickens, as well. For Pork: we have Breakfast Sausage, Bacon, Pork Chops, Chorizo, Bratwurst, and Picnic Roast. - Lisa Blackaby
  4. Barbara Armitage of Tucker's Station Farms 270-250-2979 - Still new! Jewish Apple Cake. Carrot Cake, Sweet Onion Bread and other Fresh Baked Artisan Breads. Homemade Blackberry Jams and Salsas. Purple Hull Peas, Caprese Tomatoes, Sweet Banana Peppers, Chili Peppers, Jalapeno Peppers. Today we are sampling our new Jewish Apple Cake and our famous Salsas! - Barbara Armitage
  5. Terry Huff of Heavenly Homestead Cheese 270-250-2979 - Hand crafted whole milk all natural cheeses. Cheddar, Aged Cheddar, Smokehouse Cheddar, Parmesan, Colby, Monterey Jack, Garlic and Herb, Tomato Basil, Gouda, Smoked Gouda, Havarti, Pepper Jack.

  8. Donna Jones of Big Black Dog Farm 270-634-2125 - Tomatoes. Okra. Eggplant. Lots of Honey. Baby Receiving Blankets. Bibs. Burp Cloths. Quilt.
  9. Inventories of others will be added as they arrive.

Sourdough Bread: will be at First FM2TE, Sept. 2, 2014



2014-09-02 - Adair Annex Parking Lot, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Barbara Armitage. The ovens at Tucker's Station have been up and baking since before dawn this Tuesday morning, September 2, 2014, to be ready for our first Farmer's Market on the Square - Tuesday Evening edition (FM2TE), today from 4:30pm-7pmCT. As always the first to come out and my personal favorite, Sour dough bread. The puppies and I enjoy several slices of sour dough toast with a schmear of cream cheese and a cup of oolong tea every morning for breakfast. - Barbara Armitage

Mr. Bunnell's well established truck farm provides one of the widest variety of fresh produce at the local farmers' markets. He'll be at the first Farmers Market on the Square, Tuesday evenings, which start today, 4:30pm-7pmCT, at the Adair Annex Parking Lot, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY.
