In 2013 the Blue Raiders posted a 17-4-2 record, claimed the regular-season Mid-South Conference title and reached the National Tournament semifinals for third straight year. The Blue Raiders return senior goalkeeper Yuta Nomura, a three-time All Mid-South Conference First Team honoree. Tom Moody led the Blue Raiders in goals last season with 10, followed by Yazeed Davids with nine. Davids led the team with nine assists on the year. On the heels of the 2013 season in which they finished ranked ninth in the nation, the Wildcats enter the match seeking their first victory of 2014. After tying Missouri Baptist University, 1-1, Baker lost to No. 4 Ashford (Iowa) University, 3-0, on Aug. 23 to fall to 0-1-1 thus far. The Wildcats must fill the void left by 2013 NAIA All-America First Team selection Andy Griffin's graduation. The former Baker defender accounted for a team-high seven goals as the Wildcats nabbed both the 2013 regular-season and tournament titles for the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Baker ended that season with a 3-2 double-overtime loss to Ashford in a second-round NAIA National Championship contest.
