The NAIA men's soccer McDonald's Classic will be at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY over Labor Day Weekend, Saturday-Sunday-Monday, August 30, 31, and September 1, 2014, with the following schedule:
  • 7pmCT, Saturday - No. 3 Lindsey Wilson vs. No. 8 Baker (KS)
  • 7pmCT, Sunday - No. 8 Baker vs. No. 22 Bethel (TN)
  • 4pmCT, Monday - No. 3 Lindsey Wilson vs. No. 22 Bethel
Lindsey Wilson was set to begin its regular season a weekend ago against Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) University, but inclement weather resulted in the match being cancelled.

In 2013 the Blue Raiders posted a 17-4-2 record, claimed the regular-season Mid-South Conference title and reached the National Tournament semifinals for third straight year.

The Blue Raiders return senior goalkeeper Yuta Nomura, a three-time All Mid-South Conference First Team honoree. Tom Moody led the Blue Raiders in goals last season with 10, followed by Yazeed Davids with nine. Davids led the team with nine assists on the year.

On the heels of the 2013 season in which they finished ranked ninth in the nation, the Wildcats enter the match seeking their first victory of 2014. After tying Missouri Baptist University, 1-1, Baker lost to No. 4 Ashford (Iowa) University, 3-0, on Aug. 23 to fall to 0-1-1 thus far.

The Wildcats must fill the void left by 2013 NAIA All-America First Team selection Andy Griffin's graduation. The former Baker defender accounted for a team-high seven goals as the Wildcats nabbed both the 2013 regular-season and tournament titles for the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Baker ended that season with a 3-2 double-overtime loss to Ashford in a second-round NAIA National Championship contest.

The Blue Raiders have won back-to-back matches against the Wildcats, most recently defeating Baker, 2-0, in a 2011 National Tournament semifinal contest on their way to claiming the program's most-recent National Championship. - Charles Balcom, Lindsey Wilson College
