Joe Cunningham, Adair Co., KY (1926-2014) Mr. Cunningham was a World War II, US Navy veteran and was a retired educator and elementary school principal in Ida Michigan for 40 years. He was a member of the Michigan Elementary School Principals Association and was an avid golfer for many years. He was a native of Cincinnati, OH, and a resident of Columbia, KY, at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lois Ann Grodi Cunningham, and seven children and nine grandchildren. A celebration of the life of Joe Cunningham will be held this fall in Columbia, KY. Joe Cunningham, Adair Co., KY (1926-2014) He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 29, 1926. He was the son of the late Minnie Cunningham Harris. He died Sunday, August 24, 2014, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 26 days. Mr. Cunningham was a World War II US Navy veteran and was a retired educator and elementary school principal in Ida Michigan for 40 years, he was a member of the Michigan Elementary School Principals Association and was an avid golfer for many years. He is survived by his wife of 37 years. Lois Ann Grodi Cunningham, of Columbia, KY. He is survived by the following children: Michael A. Cunningham of Lima, Ohio, Melanie Cunningham of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Kevin Cunningham of Columbus, Ohio and Colleen Grozeniger of Columbus, Ohio; Joe Grzegorzewski of Avon, Indiana, Renee Dartt of Columbia, KY and Matt Grzegorzewski of Brownsburg, Indiana. Nine grandchildren survive ; Joshua Dartt, Lauren Cunningham, Caitlin Bartley, Ryan Cunningham, C. J. Bartley, Garrett Grzegorzewski, Carter Grzegorzewski, Mackenzie Grzegorzewski, and Mallory Grzegorzewski. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Rosemary Alibrando Cunningham in 1976 and by one grandchild; Erica Dartt.
