Mr. Colva Ray Leftwich, Summersville, KY (1934-2014)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Summersville Baptist Church. He was a welder and owner and operator of Colva's Welding and Repair. His wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Perkins Leftwich, survives.He was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Chandler Leftwich and Gladys Miller Leftwich. He leaves 10 direct living descendants spanning four generations.

Mr. Colva Ray Leftwich, 79, of Summersville, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

The funeral services for Mr. Colva Ray Leftwich will be conducted at 2pmCT, Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Leslie Jewell will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service.

Mr. Colva Ray Leftwich of Summersville, Kentucky was the son of the late Chandler Leftwich and Gladys Miller Leftwich. He was born on Tuesday, December 11, 1934 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He was 79 years, 8 months, and 10 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Summersville Baptist Church. He was a welder and owner and operator of Colva's Welding and Repair.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Perkins Leftwich of Summersville, having united in marriage on August 3, 1956.

Other survivors include a daughter:
  • One daughter: Twalla Leftwich and her special friend, Sam Davis of Summersville, KY

  • A son and daughter-in-law: Eddie and Kathy Leftwich of Summersville, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Holly Corbin of Greensburg, KY; and Jill Ashlock of Cecilia, KY

  • Five great-grandchildren

  • One great-great-grandchild

  • A sister: Wilma Shuffett of Louisville, KY

  • A brother and sister-in-law: Coakley and Sue Leftwich of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Summersville Volunteer Fire Department, which can be made at the funeral home.
