Election 2014: Final list for seats School Board, SCD, City offices

Filing deadline was at 4pmCT, Tuesday, August 12, 2014 for Mayor of Columbia, Columbia City Council, Adair County School Board Races, and Adair County Soil Conservation District. Two file for mayor, eight for City Council, two candidates file for Adair County School Board Div 3, and three for school board in Div 1, setting up races to be on the Tuesday, Nov. 4 2014 general election ballot. Only three file for Soil Conservation; with three slots open, those names will not be on ballot. Brandon Thompson has filed as a write in candidate for PVA, but his name will not be on the ballot, Joyce Rodgers, Adair County Court Clerk said.
Drawings for ballot positions all local races including county wide will be 2pmCT, Thursday, August 14, 2014 in the Adair County Clerk's Office, Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY.

After the deadline for filing, the following have filed for offices since the May 2014 primary:


  • For School Board, Division 3 - Jason B. Payne and Lisa Burton
  • For School Board, Division 1 - Greg Willis, Billy Bloyd, and Terry Harvey.
  • For Mayor City of Columbia - June Parson and Curtis Hardwick
  • For the six open City of Columbia Council Seats Craig Dean, Linda Waggener, Ronald P. Rogers, Charles Grimsley, Robert Flowers, Anthony C. Lasley, Mark D. Harris, and Kenneth Dulin.
  • For the three open seats on the Adair County Soil Conservation District - Danny Wilkinson, Wesley Taylor, and Jason Grider. (Names won't be on ballot as seats are uncontested
Brandon Thompson has filed as a write in for Property Valuation Administrator in Adair County, opposing incumbent PVA Jeff Feese. Thompson's name will not be on the ballot, Adair County Court Clerk Joyce Rogers said, but he has qualified to have write in votes counted in the race. Write in candidates have until 4pmCT, local time, October 24, 2014, to file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate , Clerk Rodgers said.
