Homeplace on Green River Fall Festival to feature Kentucky artists, crafters

Homeplace on Green River, 5807 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville KY, will again feature Kentucky crafted art, crafts and locally produced items at its Saturday, September 6, 2014, Fall Heritage Festival, open from 8am-4pmCT/9am-5pmET.



Products for sale will include a variety of Kentucky hand-crafted wares including miniature wood buildings, handmade game boards, horseshoe art, hand tooled wooden bowls, ceramics, jewelry, homemade soaps and lotions, hair bows, painting, photography, note cards and many other items. All are crafted in Kentucky and no resale items are permitted.

A number of the participants will also be giving demonstrations of their talents including pottery, photography and other arts and crafts.

If you wish to display or sell your personally crafted wares application forms to reserve a booth are available at the Adair County Chamber of Commerce Office, 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia; The Greensburg City Hall, 110 W. Court Street, Greensburg; and the Taylor County Extension Office, 5807 Columbia Rd, Campbellsville. If you have questions about a booth at the festival, contact Vonnie Kolbenschlag at 270 384 6777.

The Saturday festival will be open from 9am-5pmET and offers a day of family activities. In addition to the arts, crafts, exhibitions and demonstrations, there will be a barrel train, petting zoo, face painting, hay rides, mule teams, food vendors and a variety of other activities. A $5 parking fee per car will include access for all in the car to all of the activities including the arts and crafts sales, the various demonstrations and information booths, and tickets for many of the rides. The new, well-marked trail system on the adjacent Tebbs Bend/Green River Nature Area will be open with direct access from Homeplace. There is no charge for use of the trails. Homeplace is an historic farm first settled in 1804 and is a cooperative effort by Adair, Green and Taylor counties to preserve the rich agricultural heritage of south central Kentucky. The farm is currently being restored. Homeplace is located between Columbia and Campbellsville on highway 55. The address is 5807 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville KY 42718 and the entrance is well-marked.
