Lawrence (Rego) Holland, Cumberland Co., KY (1925-2014)

He was a former employee of the Indianapolis Stockyard and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a Tank Crewman. He will be accorded military honors at committal service. He was a native of Marion County, IN, and a resident of Cumberland County, KY, at the time of his death. his wife, Mary Lou White Holland, survives. He leaves 49 direct living descendants

Lawrence "Rego" Holland age 89 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville, KY.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Ronnie Pitcock officiating. Burial will be in Dutch Creek Cemetery with military honors. The family requests visitation after 5pmCT, Sunday, July 27, 2014 until the funeral hour on Tuesday at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Lawrence (Rego) Holland, Cumberland Co., KY (1925-2014)


He was born on Sunday, January 04, 1925 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. He was the son of the late Gilbert and Helena Haun Holland. He died Saturday, July 26, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 89 years, six months, and 22 days.

He was a former employee of the Indianapolis Stockyard and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a Tank Crewman.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Holland, Robert Holland, Clarence Holland, and Arthur Holland, three sisters, Catherine Delweax, Margaret Coleman, and Helen Evans.

Survivors include:
  • His wife: Mary Lou White Holland of Burkesville, KY

  • Five daughters: Violet Turner and her husband Otis of Dubre, KY; Glenda Parsons and her husband Jim of Mooresville, IN; Donna Muse of Mooresville, IN; Linda Muse and her husband Danny of Marrowbone, KY; and Betty Milam of Marrowbone, KY

  • One son: Daniel Holland of Marrowbone, KY

  • One sister: Irene Grider of Indianapolis, IN

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Twenty-five great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren

  • A host of nieces, nephews, and friends
