The training was conducted by three marines. The training consisted of a vigorous 200 yard warm up, an 880 yard sprint, followed by two minutes of non-stop repetitions of a 30 pound amo can lifts over their heads. The training concluded with a fitness test which included low crawls, high crawls, sprints, dead man drag, dead man carry, sprint with two 30 lb. amo cans, grenade throw, push-ups and a return sprint to the finish line with the two 30 lb. amo cans. At the end of the training, the players were told that their times would be tallied and list of each players' scores would be sent to Coach Gay. Coach Gay had the following comment: "I am thankful that the United States Marine Corp was able to come and be with our young men last night. The USMC is one of the greatest organizations in the world and has always produced great men who share a special bond and common goal. These are all characteristics we are trying to instill into our young men so it is great to welcome them to our campus. I thought our kids performed the challenges well. We were positive, encouraging, competitive and we had fun doing it. These are all things we have to do daily to continue our growth through the 2014 season."
