Preston Stapp, 78, Russell Co., KY (1935-2014)

He was a car salesman and a Veteran of US Army. He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident o the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Aldon Forest & Zula Mae Lowhorn Stapp. His wife, Cola Faye Stapp, survives. He leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Preston Stapp, 78, of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at his home.

Funeral service for Preston Stapp will be 12pm noon CT, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Barry Lawson officiating. Visitation will be after 11amCT, Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Burial will be in the Blakey Cemetery. Special Music will be by LaDena McGowan, and Regina Antle.


Pallbearers: Billy Jack Loy, Pat Loy, Matthew Loy, Charles Loy, Shane Stapp, Adam Stapp, and Jadin Stapp.

He was born Saturday, July 13, 1935 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Aldon Forest & Zula Mae Lowhorn Stapp. He died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and 19 days.

He was a car salesman and a Veteran of US Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Loy; and 3 brothers, David Ronald Stapp, Dennis Stapp, and Gavis Stapp.

Survivors include his wife Cola Faye Stapp, Russell Springs, KY and the following:
  • Two sons: Lance Stapp, Chris Stapp and his wife, Linda Carol, both of Russell Springs, KY

  • Five grandchildren

  • Three great grandchildren

  • Sister: Elaine (Roger) Colllins, Russell Springs, KY

  • Three brothers: Arvis Ray (Linda Kay) Stapp, Russell Springs, KY; Phillip (Patsy ) Stapp, Russell Springs, KY: and Michael Anthony Stapp, Indiana.
