2014 Adair Co. Fair: Youth (Clover Buds) Floral Hall

Wednesday, July 9th, from 10:00 a.m. until Noon Central Time in the VFW Building

Floral Hall
Youth (Clover Buds) Ages 8 and Under
Class I: 4 Years Old and Under
Class II: 5 to 8 Years Old



Rules
  1. Any Adair County Youth 8 years of age and under may enter. Please print age on entry.
  2. All work must be the work of the exhibitor and only one item per class being accepted. Enter as many classes as you like.
  3. Exhibitor Entry Forms will be used for entering items in the Floral Hall. Exhibitor Entry Forms may be picked up at the Adair County Extension Office at 409 Fairground Street in Columbia prior to the County Fair. Exhibitor Entry Forms will also be available on Wednesday – July 9. However, exhibitors are encouraged to obtain and complete the Exhibitor Entry Form prior to bringing items to the Floral Hall. Exhibitor Entry Forms will serve as a claim ticket for items to be picked up on Sunday- July 13, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Exhibitors will receive a copy of the Entry Form upon completion of entries at Floral Hall. The Entry Form must be retained by exhibitor and presented to Superintendent before items can be released on Sunday. Items will not be released prior to Sunday – July 13 at 1:00 pm. If items are lost and/or goods taken by anyone other than the owner, responsibility of the Fair Committee shall cease.
  4. Enter items at the Floral Hall on Wednesday, July 9 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Items will need to be picked up on Sunday, July 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  5. All entries receive a ribbon.
  6. All art must be in a frame or mounted on posterboard.

  1. Any kind of cookies (4) (no peanut butter)
  2. Any 4 iced cup cakes from mix
  3. Any Flower Item
  4. Ceramic
  5. Woodcraft
  6. Craft from Fabric
  7. Bible School Craft (5X7 or larger or mount on 5X7 cardboard)
  8. Beaded Craft
  9. Jewelry Item (attached to cardboard)
  10. Color Photo (Must be matted, framed or on poster board) (All art must be matted, framed or on poster board)
  11. Oil Painting
  12. Pencil Drawing
  13. Charcoal, Chalk Drawing
  14. Acrylic Painting
  15. Water Color Art
  16. Color Pencil Drawing
  17. Crayon Art (Original)
  18. Marker Drawings
  19. Crayon Colored Picture
  20. Marker Colored Picture
  21. Wood Painted Item
  22. Scrap Book
  23. Plastic Canvas Needlework
  24. Computer Generated Art
  25. Collage on Posterboard
  26. Lego Model (any)
  27. Terrariums
  28. Dish gardens (desert or tropical)
  29. Vegetable bucket gardens (grown in container - not dug out of the garden)
  30. Annual bucket gardens
  31. House plants
  32. Hanging baskets


Garden Displays:
A white paper plate for vegetables must be supplied by the exhibitor. These vegetables will not be returned to the exhibitor. Classes of vegetables will be limited to:
  1. Tomato (5 per plate) Must be ripe (red or yellow color only)
  2. Peppers, hot, bell, or sweet (5 per plate)
  3. Cucumbers, slicing (5 per plate), pickling (5 per plate)
  4. Beans, snap or lima (12 per plate)
  5. Corn, sweet (in the husk with silks) (5 ears per plate)
  6. Cantaloupe (1 whole)
  7. Largest Tomato (by weight) Must be ripe (red or yellow color only)
  8. Largest Cabbage (by weight)
  9. Largest Pumpkin (by weight)
  10. Largest Watermelon
