Donald Ray (Donnie) Priddy, 66, Barren Co., KY1948-2014)

He was an Army Veteran having served in Vietnam and worked at G.E. in Louisville afterwards. He was a native of Upton, KY, and a resident of Glasgow, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Dora Rosevelt and Alma Riggs Priddy. His wife, Carolyn Priddy, survives.

Donald Ray (Donnie) Priddy, age 66 of Glasgow, KY (formerly of Upton) died June 23, 2014 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 1pmCT at the Summer Shade Cemetery, Summer Shade, KY, with burial to follow. Viewing will be Wednesday from 8am-1pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, Metcalfe County, KY.


Donald Ray (Donnie) Priddy, 66, Barren Co., KY1948-2014)


He was born in Upton, KY on March 1, 1948. He was the son of the late Dora Rosevelt and Alma Riggs Priddy. He died Tuesday, June 23, 2014 in Glasgow, KY, at the age of 66 years, 3 months, and 12 days.

He was an Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam, and worked at G.E. in Louisville afterwards.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Priddy, and the following:
  • Two sons: Chris Priddy of Upton, KY; and Donnie Priddy, Jr. of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Two step daughters: Shelly (Bobby) Flood of Glasgow, KY; and Elgenia (Todd) Hastings of Woodlawn, TN

  • Six sisters: Ada Sanders of Radcliff, KY; and Opal Miller, Maurie Hynes, Catherin Oloughlin, Francis Growemeyer and Dorothy Lawison all of Louisville, KY

  • Two brothers: Harold Priddy of Elizabethtown, KY; of and Russell (Melva) Priddy of Louisville, KY
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hoover and James Priddy and one sister in law Belva Priddy.

Memorials are suggested to the Summer Shade Fire Department and can be sent to: McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY 42166. McMurtrey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
