Mr. Billy Ray Porter Merrick of Gravel Switch passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Lebanon, KY. Cremation was accorded by the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, KY 42718. Funeral services will be held privately.



Mr. Billy Ray Porter Merrick, Gravel Switch (1961-2014)


Mr. Merrick was the son of the late Edgar Porter and Velma (Hafley) Merrick. He was born February 5, 1961. He died June 24, 2014, in Lebanon, Marion County, KY, at the age of 53 years, four months, and 19 days of age.

He was a farmer and logger by trade. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Gravel Switch Baptist Church. Mr. Merrick leaves to mourn his passing:
  • A brother: Randy Porter and wife Jean of Lebanon, KY

  • A sister: Judy Woodard and husband Robert of Lancaster, KY

  • And a host of other extended family and friends.
