Victoria Pike: 'Girl' back in after visit to neighbors Whole Vicky's whole ranch put on lockdown following escape Click on headline for full details of the caper By Victoria Pike After at least a triple hot flash, one of the girls is back home under lock and key after an afternoon visit to some of our neighbors. Yesterday one of our black and white faced cows had a calf that was born dead. Brought her to the house to see if she would take a twin, Buster, that nobody claimed a few days ago. Left her in the barn with him and came to the house to clean up after a rather messy first eating. Next thing I know is the neighbor called to say she has a cow in her front yard. Somehow she wiggled the chain on the gate loose and went looking for her calf. She ended up in the neighbors lot and several fine neighbors stopped to assist in getting her loaded on the cattle trailer and back home. Thanks to all who assisted today. This ranch will be under lockdown until further notice. So if you come to visit and the outside main gate is closed, just open and close and come on in. Taking no chances on one of the girls going to Walmart shopping. --Victoria Pike This story was posted on 2014-06-22 16:31:15
