Grayson Crawford joins Lindsey Wilson Baseball coaching staff Crawford comes from Christian County High School By Charles Balcom COLUMBIA, KY - Lindsey Wilson baseball head coach Jonathan Burton announced on Tuesday that Grayson Crawford will join the Blue Raiders baseball coaching staff for the 2014-15 season. "We are thrilled that Grayson has decided to join our program and institution," Burton said. "His vision and experience in handling hitters is what separated him from the other candidates." Crawford comes to Lindsey Wilson after one season as head coach at Christian County High School in Hopkinsville, Ky., where he finished the year with a 26-15 record and won the district championship. Christian County reached the Regional 2 Championship game before finishing runner-up. Crawford was also the head baseball coach and assistant general manager for the past three seasons for the Hoptown Hoppers, a collegiate summer wood bat league. The Hoppers won back-to-back Ohio Valley League Championships in 2012 and 2013 under Crawford. Prior to coaching at Christian County, Crawford was an assistant coach at Pensacola State College (Fla.) for two seasons where he helped 27 student-athletes move on to play at four-year institutions. Crawford also spent time as an assistant coach at Stillman College (Ala.) and helped the program win the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championship. Crawford graduated from Stillman with a Bachelor's degree in physical education in 2010. "I am looking forward to having his energy, commitment and work ethic in helping us reach new heights," Burton said. - Charles Balcom This story was posted on 2014-06-11 13:47:16
