There is no admission fee for the family oriented show. There will be a nominal charge for food offered by food vendors. The show will include a variety of antique tractors on display and some will participate in contests at Homeplace and a tractor parade along the scenic Tebbs Bend Civil War trail. There will also be awards in several categories. Last year's show attracted over 40 tractors and their owners and hundreds of others interested in tractors or just out for a day of family fun. In addition to the gas engines and tractors there will be other family activities including the pedal tractor pull for young folks that have been so popular at the show over the years. More than five miles of well-marked trails with a trail head at Homeplace will also be open. This is the same well-known gas engine and tractor show sponsored by Garrison Construction for 16 years. Lewis Garrison moved the show to Homeplace in 2012 because of the added parking and available facilities at the historic farm. Homeplace has no paid employees and is dependent upon volunteers and sponsors. Homeplace on Green River is located at 5807 New Columbia Road (State Highway 55) on a 200 acre historic farm 14 miles north of Columbia and five miles south of Campbellsville. First settled in 1804, the buildings and grounds at the farm are being restored as a tribute to the agricultural heritage of South Central Kentucky and a place where young and old can enjoy and learn more about our natural world. Homeplace has been designated as "Kentucky's Outdoor Classroom," is open to the public and there are events scheduled there throughout the year. Contact Ken Forman at kenforman@windstream.net.
