Jewell E. Spears, age 73, of Burkesville, KY passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at her home.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 06, 2014 at 12pm noon CT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Spears Cemetery. The family requests visitation 4pm-9pmCT, Thursday, June 05, 2014 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY.

Jewell E. Spears, 73, Cumberland Co., KY (1940-2014)

Jewell was born on June 19, 1940 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Spears and Roxie Willis Spears. She died Monday, June 2, 2014, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 73 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

She was a former employee of Sulphur Creek Marina, and Hendricks Creek Resort.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Merrel Spears and Vada Thrasher, four brothers, Bill Spears, George Blaine "G.B." Spears, Hoy Spears, and Earl Spears.

Survivors include:
  • Three sisters: Virginia Spears, Sally Humphrey, and Susie Huff all of Burkesville, KY

  • Five brothers: Justus Spears of Burkesville, KY; Hall Spears and his wife Mary Ann of Indianapolis, IN; Troy Spears of Indianapolis, IN; Douglas Spears of Albany, KY; and Dennis Spears and his wife Donna of Burkesville, KY

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
