Mary P. Cooper, 99, Russell County, KY (1914-2014)

Her death in Columbia, Adair County, KY, came just 11 days shy of her 100th birthday. She was a native of Jamestown, KY, and a resident of the city at the time of her death. She was the widow of the late Valda H. Cooper. She leaves 19 direct living descendants spanning 4 generations. She was a homemaker and a member of Welfare Baptist Church.

Mary P. Cooper, Cooper Road, Jamestown, KY, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Summit Manor Nursing Home, Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, at 10amCT, Wednesday, June 4, 2014, with Bro. Randy Smith the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Cemetery, Jamestown, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the funeral home.



Mary P. Cooper, 99, Russell County, KY (1914-2014)

She was born Thursday, June 11, 1914, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late John G. gaskins and Ada Pearl (Stearns) Gaskins. She died Saturday, May 31, 2014, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 99 years, 11 months, and 20 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Welfare Baptist Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her son: Lyle Cooper, Jamestown, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Valda H. Coopper; one son, J.C. Cooper; one grandson, Ricky Cooper; and two sisters, Lucille Wilson and Opal Grider.

The H.C. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, in charge of arrangements.
