ACHS has fabulous Career & Technology Night Over 150 in attendance at affair coordinated by Career & Technology Department Head Loretta Rainwater Click on headline for complete article with photo(s) By Shamarie Claiborne, Media Publicity Coordinator Adair County School District, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY The month of May has been extremely busy for the Adair County High School. One of the highlights, without question, was the Career and Technology Night Out. Department Head Loretta Rainwater did a fabulous job of coordinating the evening. The night showcased all the great things that are happening in the Career and Technology Department as a whole. The Career and Technology Departments include Agriculture, Family Consumer Science, Information Technology, Health Sciences, Manufacturing, and Business and Marketing. Community members, parents, and students interested in one or all these areas attended and watched student presentations, viewed students work, and/or received information about available opportunities in the different disciplines next year. The biggest buzz of the evening was created when the Lake Cumberland Area Technology Center officially announced Adair County High School as their new Satellite Campus location. When Mrs. Rainwater was asked about her department she stated "it is truly an exciting time for all of us especially with the expansion of our career pathways to almost 40 options for our students next year. I can speak for the entire department when I say we can't wait for the 2014/2015 school year to begin!" There were well over 150 people in attendance during the night and everyone was impressed with all the great things going on in all the areas of Career and Technology. We can't wait to see what the next C/T Night Out will look like-- with all the new areas it should be another great event hosted by Adair County High School. - Shamarie Claiborne, Media Publicity Coordinator, Adair County School District This story was posted on 2014-05-27 15:31:14
