Russell Co., KY Memorial Day shooting investigation underway Two men, residents of same Russell County address, involved in exchange of gunfire. One had fired handgun, striking the vehicle of other, who returned fire through the windshield of his car with a shotgun; resulting injury necessitates transportation to Russell County Hospital from which victim was airlifted to UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. No charges filed yet. Investigation is ongoing. Third person at the residence was present but not involved in altercation Click on headline for complete story By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY JAMESTOWN, KY - KSP Post 15 in Columbia, KY, received a call today, Monday, May 26, 2014, from the Russell County dispatch at approximately 4:53amCT regarding a shooting that occurred at 150 Murray Road in Jamestown. 37-year-old Trenni D. Chaney, of Jamestown, waved a handgun and fired a shot striking a vehicle occupied by 43 year old Steven Pigman of Somerset, KY. Pigman was sitting in the car in a lot by the residence, retrieved a shotgun from within the car and returned fire through the windshield, striking Chaney. Chaney was transported to the hospital and then flown to U.K. Medical Center where he remains in stable condition. Chaney and Pigman both live at the residence. One other person was at the residence but was not involved in the altercation.
