The students of Adair County Primary Center are celebrating today. The long-awaited playground for the school has finally opened.

Ribbon-cutting ceremonies occurred Thursday morning, May 22, 2014, with Kylie Miller, a kindergarten student in Mrs. Shay Knifley's class, doing the honors.

At the beginning of the school year Kylie gave the first donation toward getting a new playground. Her one-dollar donation was saved and Thursday she proudly cut the ribbon and was the first ACPC student to play on the new facility.

She was quickly followed by the students in Mrs. Knifley's class.

Mr. Chad Myers, ACPC PE teacher, designed and negotiated the entire playground process for the school.

The students and staff at ACPC are certainly thankful to him for his hard work.

The playground is the result of board approved funding combined with money raised by students and families at ACPC. Thanks to all involved. - Patty Jones
