Ovalee Compton Metcalfe 79 of Clarksville, Indiana formerly of Adair County, Kentucky passed away Tuesday May 20, 2014 at her home in Clarksville.

Funeral service, Saturday May 24, 2014 at 9:30CT/10:30amET, at the Chapman Funeral Home, 431 W. Harrison Ave. Clarksville, Indiana Visitation will be from 12pm noon-7pmCT/1pm-8pmET Friday at the Chapman Funeral Home in Clarksville, IN. Burial in the Moore Cemetery, 225 Prices Creek Road, Edmonton, KY in Adair County, KY at approximately 1pmCT/2pmET, Saturday.



She was preceded in death by her first husband Jimmy Watson Compton on April 29, 1983 and a daughter Connie Deitsch.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Metcalfe of Clarksville, IN, and he following:
  • One daughter: Donna Holliday and husband: Joseph of New Albany, Indiana

  • One sister: Linda Sparks and husband Uriel of Louisville, KY

  • One brother: Reecer Thomas and wife Elizabeth of Louisville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Stephanie Deitsch, Jennifer Deitsch, Heather Schmitz, Adam Baker, Mason Baker

  • and by four great grandchildren
She was a retired cook at Eastern Bowling Lanes Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, in charge of local arrangements
