Lindsey Wilson's Medale, Morales and Vilches named to Capital One Academic All-District 2 Men's At-Large Team

Franck Medale, Fabricio Morales and Pablo Vilches have been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 2 At-Large Team, College Sports Information Directors of America officials announced today.

Medale, Morales and Vilches are three of 11 student-athletes to be selected to the all-district team at the college division level, which includes the NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions. District 2 consists of those student-athletes from Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana and Tennessee.

Medale helped the Lindsey Wilson men’s golf team qualify for the NAIA National Championship Tournament for the first time since 2007. The Blue Raiders received an automatic bid to the championships after winning the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship.

The Valence d’Agen, France, sophomore is a business administration major with a 3.84 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Morales and Vilches helped the Lindsey Wilson men’s tennis team advance to the NAIA National Championship Quarterfinals before falling in a tightly-contested match to Vanguard (Calif.) 5-4.

Morales concluded his season with an 18-4 singles record and 15-5 doubles record. The senior from Cancun, Mexico, is a four-time Second Team NAIA All-American and four-time All-MSC First Team honoree. He also earned Academic All-MSC honors for the second time this season.

Morales is a business administration major with a 3.41 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Vilches finished his season with a perfect 17-0 mark in singles competition. The junior from Alicante, Spain, added a 17-3 doubles record and earned All-MSC Second Team honors as well as begin named to the Academic All-MSC team.

Vilches is a Psychology major with a 3.39 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Since the program’s inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
