Cupcakes for Kody Event held at Adair Co. School Campus Event honors memory of Kody Pelly, 'the sweetest soul ever put on the planet' Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Shamarie Claiborne, Media Publicity Coordinator Adair County School District During the afternoon of May 7th -the Adair County Special Education classes gathered to remember one of their own. It was the first annual Cupcakes for Kody! Our entire district has struggled with the loss of our dear friend Kody Pelly, who without a doubt was the kindest soul God ever put on the planet. The day was put together by Valerie Taylor, Missy Garmon, and Jennifer Perkins who all had the privilege of teaching Kody through the years. There were 32 students in attendance from Adair County Primary Center, Adair County Elementary School, Adair County Middle School and Adair County High School. Each student iced and decorated their own cupcake in Kody's memory. Kody's mother, Kim, was in attendance and made a special cupcake she thought Kody would have enjoyed. It was truly a great day, full of fun memories about Kody and of course Kody's favorite - cupcakes. A huge thank you to Kelli Bonifer and Donna Grant who made all the cupcakes for the event and I can tell you from firsthand experience - they tasted awesome! Anita Goode, Director of Special Education, participated along with Superintendent, Alan Reed. A great time was had by all and the students are already looking forward to the 2nd Annual Cupcakes for Kody, next year. This story was posted on 2014-05-14 15:19:55
