LWC's Brickson and Graham take 1st place in 5K event

At USATF Race Walk meet. Amanda Bland added a second-place finish on the women’s side behind Brickson

DAYTON, OHIO– Reini Brickson and Ben Graham both finished in first place in the men’s and women’s 5K race walk events on Sunday at the 27th Annual Jack Mortland Race Walks hosted by the Miami Valley Track Club at Eastwood Lake Metro Park.



Amanda Bland added a second-place finish in the 5K on the women’s side finishing behind Brickson.

Graham finished the event in 26:33.79 to win the men’s race against over a dozen competitors.

On the women’s side, Brickson and Bland finished first and second in a field of a dozen racers. Brickson completed the race in a time of 27:42.50 followed shortly by Bland in second with a time of 28:33.29.

The day’s events consisted of 1.25, 5K, 10K race walks along with the USA Track and Field 10K Race Walk Championships. - CHARLES BALCOM, Lindsey Wilson College
