Community organizational meeting for 2014 Project Graduation

The 2014 ACHS Project Graduation is the twenty-sixth year for annual event

By Ellen Zornes

The first Adair County High Project Graduation communityorganizational planning meeting will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 6pmCT, at the Adair County Public Library, 307Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.

The 2014 ACHS Project Graduation is the twenty-sixth year that the Adair community has sponsored this memorable drug and alcohol free celebration for seniors, juniors and their guests. This fun night is made possible through the generosity and collaborative efforts of community members, businesses, civic organizations, parents, volunteers, and school staff.

Besides hanging out with friends and classmates, students play games, win prizes, showcase their talents, listen to music and enjoy lots of good food. This celebration signifies the end of an era for our high school graduates' and is the last time that most will be together before embarking on their post high school lives.

Statistics show that instances of high risk behavior increases among teenagers on nights like graduation. Project Graduation provides a safe environment for students to celebrate, and sends a clear message to our students that we are proud of their accomplishments and that we care about their safety.

If you are interested in assisting with or making a donation to continue this important tradition for our graduates, please attend this meeting or contact LeAnna Bennett at 270-384-7475 or e-mailLeanna.bennett@kctcs.edu.

Adair Project Graduation will follow graduation scheduled on Friday, June 6. As always, we appreciate all our community does to support our students! - Ellen Zornes
