Personal commentary

Melissa, incidents such as this deeply anger me. I am sure the Sheriff's office has already been contacted, and that is the proper thing to do, but unfortunately crimes like this are hard to solve unless someone talks.

BR> If you would like to do something yourself to catch the heartless jerks involved, come here on Columbia Magazine, and ask CM readers to pledge donations to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person or persons involved.

If you can get 20 people to pledge $50.00 each that would be $1000.00 for a reward and that may be enough to get someone to turn the jerks in. If you are willing to go forward with this, I will be the first to pledge $50.00 towards a reward.

I don't know what area of the county this incident happened in but if you put up flyers in businesses in the area and here on CM and ask the radio stations to make announcements about the incident and the reward I will almost guarantee, you will get some positive results.

Remember, law enforcement is not just the responsibility of law enforcement officers, but it is the responsibility of all good citizens. --Bill Troutwine Comments re photo 54689 A picture of grief

A picture of grief . . .

2014-05-03 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Melissa Stone.
. . . and a sad commentary on society - This billy goat is looking across a pasture where three of his nannies lay dead after some heartless individual thought it would be sporting to shoot such docile creatures while they were housed in a pen and had nowhere to go. Not only were they the property of a man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone he thought might be in need; they were loved and cared for like pets. Each was named with care by grandchildren who adored them. It is a sad commentary on society when human beings can perpetrate such acts of senseless cruelty. - Melissa Stone
