Johnny Withers, 68, of Russell Springs, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services for Johnny Withers will be 10amCT, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Bobby. Withers officiating. Friends may call 5pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, April 22, 2024, aat the funeral home. Burial will be in the New Friendship Cemetery on Jericho Road in Russell County, KY.

Johnny Withers was born Sunday, August 15, 1945 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Rufus & Flora Meece Withers. He died April 20, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 68 years, 5 days.

He was the long time owner of Johnny's Scrap Metal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Adrian "Red" Withers, Ernest Withers, Avis Withers, Rollin Withers, Charles Withers and 4 sisters; Lorraine Withers, Lurie Wilson, Louise Miller, and Delores Tucker.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two children: Melinda Withers, Oak Park, IL; and Tammy Courtney, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two grandchildren

  • Sister: Geneva Johnson, Louisville, KY
