He was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident at the time of his death. He was a member of large, respected South Adair County, KY family. He was the son of the late Roy and Mamie Wright Spencer. His wife, Faylene Helm Spencer, survives. He leaves 12 direct living descendants.

Bobby Lee Spencer, 66, of the Cundiff community, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at his residence.

Cremation has been chosen and a memorial service will be Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 7pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson officiating, The family will receive friends after 5pmCT, Thursday at the funeral home.



Bobby Lee Spencer, Adair Co., KY (1947-2014)


He was born Wednesday, May 21, 1947, in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Roy and Mamie Wright Spencer. He died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at his residence in Cundiff, Adair County, KY, at the age of 66 years, 10 moths, and 22 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Dewayne Spencer, a sister, Fredia Morgan and two grandchildren, Christian Bradshaw & Nathan McClister Survivors include:
  • His wife: Faylene Helm Spencer of Columbia, KY

  • Three sons: Kevin Spencer of Russell Springs, KY; Bobby Joe Spencer of Columbia, KY; and Leroy Spencer of Cundiff

  • Two daughters: Tammy (Benjamin) Bault of Columbia, KY; and Elisha Bunch of Cundiff

  • Three brothers: Cordell Spencer and Danny Spencer both of Cundiff, KY; and Harold Spencer of Glens Fork, KY

  • Seven grandchildren; Including a special grandson, Tyler McClister; and Aimee McClister, Dashawn McClister, Haley Spencer, Makayla Spencer, Christopher McClister, and Nathan Kelsay


  • Special sister-in-law: Thelma Bunch of Columbia, KY

  • Special friend: Charlene Balton of Columbia, KY

  • Several other relatives and friends
