The cost of the class is $5.00 and lunch will be provided. Please register in advance at the Adair county Extension Services office or by calling at 270.384.2317. If you're thinking about being a part of the Farmer's Market on the Square this year Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) is just one of many educational opportunities offered locally to help you be a successful entrepreneur.

Why attend a Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) class?

  • GAP is not currently a requirement for selling fresh produce or fruit at the Farmer’s Market on the Square however the writing is on the wall and we see changes coming from the Kentucky Agricultural Department and USDA that will eventually make it a required class for farmers.

  • GAP is required if you want to be able to offer raw/uncooked samples of your product at the Farmer’s Market on the Square. You will complete all the necessary paperwork required for sampling during this class. There is no charge for a “Sampling Certificate”.

  • The FM2 Association highly recommends that all of our members who are food producers complete this course.
