Allman Pleads guilty in Russell Circuit Court

By Larry Smith, and Mike Wilson, FM 92.7 the WAVE & FM 99.9 The Big DAWG

Christopher Allman, charged with the murder of pharmacist Dr. Sarah Hart in 2012, pleaded guilty today, Thursday, April 3, 2014, in Russell County Circuit court, in a case presided over by Judge Vernon D. Miniard.

In a plea agreement, Allman pleaded guilty to all six charges and will receive a sentence of life imprisonment without parole.

Formal sentencing is scheduled for May 6, 2014 in Russell County Circuit Court.

All parties are satisfied with the agreement, Commonwealth Attorney Matt Leveridge announced. Had the case gone to court, Leveridge said, and a death sentence imposed, it might have taken as long as 30 years to carry out the sentence.
