On Monday afternoon, March 10, 2014, at around 3:32pmCT, The Adair County Fire Department, along with assistance from the South Russell Fire Department and the KY Division of Forestry, battled a field and woods fire at 6472 Highway 55 South Road, near a residence owned by Bruce Hadley. There were approximately 40 acres of land burned. There were 19 firemen on the scene for 2 hours. - Donald Hare
