She was a former operator of Melson's Grocery and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Melson; sister, Ellen Phillips; and four brothers, Dewey, James, Russell, and Drewey Tiller. Survivors include the following:
