Flonnie Mae Melson, 73, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY. Funeral service for Flonnie Mae Melson will be 10amCT, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Jerry Smith officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Monday, March 10, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery



Flonnie Mae Melson, 73, Rusell County, KY (1940-2014)

She was born Wednesday, July 31, 1940 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of late Avery & Bessie Polston Tiller. She died Thursday, March 6, 2014, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 73 years, 7 months, and 6 days.

She was a former operator of Melson's Grocery and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Melson; sister, Ellen Phillips; and four brothers, Dewey, James, Russell, and Drewey Tiller.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four children: Jeffery Melson and Jerry (Irene) Melson, both of Russell Springs, KY; Ricky Melson, Jamestown, KY; and Rhonda (Shannon) Boldman, El Paso, TX

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Four great grandchildren

  • Sister: Nelda Sullivan, Plainfield, IN

  • Brother: Elvin Tiller, Indianapolis, IN

  • A host of neices and nephews
