Brandon Thompson: In defense of Columbia/Adair County 'There's an old saying about churches that I think also could apply to cities and towns...There's no such thing as a perfect one, but if you happen to find the perfect one you shouldn't join it, because then it would be ruined.' - BRANDON THOMPSON By Brandon Thompson Personal Commentary I'm a proud Adair Countian by choice rather than birth, having grown up in Cumberland County. And I'll say, after 13+ years living here it is definitely home and always will be. I love our community. There's an old saying about churches that I think also could apply to cities and towns...There's no such thing as a perfect one, but if you happen to find the perfect one you shouldn't join it, because then it would be ruined. Columbia is a wonderful place to live. Sure we have room for improvements, but show me a community that doesn't. I'm thankful for our road crews and think they did an admirable job considering the severity of the storm. Having been in neighboring counties since the storm hit, I can say our roads were in much better shape than some of the same roads just across county lines. The world will always have people who view the glass as half empty, even though most of us can see it's half full. I choose to be happy and thankful. I've found it's a much better way to live. - Brandon Thompson This story was posted on 2014-03-07 08:13:45
