He was a member of Spears Chapel Church and a former employee of Serck Heat Transfer, and a former Cumberland County Deputy Sheriff. He was a native of Cumberland County and a resident at the time of his death. He was th eson of the late Jess and Sarah Groce Huff. He was the widower of Barbara Ann Thacker. He leaves 9 direct living descendants.

Reed Huff age 76 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Monday, March 03, 2014 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville, KY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 09, 2014 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main ST, Burkesville, KY with burial in Perkins Cemetery. Family requests visitation will be 3pm-9pmCT, Saturday, March 08, 2014 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Reed Huff, Cumberland Co., KY (1937-2014)


Reed was born on August 11, 1937 in Cumberland County, Kentucky, He was the son of the late Jess and Sarah Groce Huff. He died Monday, March 3, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 8 days.

He was a member of Spears Chapel Church and a former employee of Serck Heat Transfer, and a former Cumberland County Deputy Sheriff.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Maydean Groce Huff, and one sister, Barbara Ann Thacker.

Survivors include:
  • Two daughters: Teresa Thacker of Burkesville, KY and Rebecca "Becky" Hughes and her husband Ricky of Burkesville, KY

  • One son: Michael Huff and his wife Neta of Burkesville, KY

  • Two brothers: David Huff and Billy Huff both of Burkesville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: J.R. Thacker, Mary Beth Pitcock, Cody Thacker, and Will Huff

  • Two great grandchildren: Gunner Pitcock, and Tyler Thacker

  • A host of other relatives and friends
