CJE Ann Melton: Adair gets $500,000 grant for satellite campus

Announcement brings dream of vocational school at Adair County High School one step closer to reality. Supt. Alan Reed requests Adair Fiscal Court to also submit the final paperwork for a $300,000 Appalachian Regional Commission grant, the last component of the financing package - CM

To the people of Adair County:

We are proud to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of a Community Development Block Grant funds for the Adair County ATC/Career Readiness Center (Satellite Campus at Adair County High School) in the amount of $500,000.

This is a result of the City of Columbia, Adair County Fiscal Court, and the Adair County Board of Education joining together in an effort to support better education to insure job readiness for Adair County students. This partnership will enable young people to train in a number of fields where they will receive state and industrial certifications.

Education is an individual's tool to thrive in society and this further allows us to continue laying the groundwork for growing our community and job creation.
Many thnks to everyone who helped make this dream a reality.

signed, Ann Melton Adair County Judge/Executive
