Dorkis F. Burton, age 50 years of Liberty Road Columbia, KY passed away suddenly Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 9:45pmCT, at the Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room in Columbia, KY

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Wayne Keith the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Bearwallow Cemetery, 6090 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. The family request visitation after 4pmCT, on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home

She was the daughter of the late James Harlan & Jewell Edna Harmon Burton of Adair County, Kentucky. She was born Wednesday, January 1, 1964. She died Saturday, February 22, 2014, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 50 years, 1 month, and 21 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew J. Burton, and sister in law, Julia Burton both in 2013.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Frances Morgan and fiance' John Fields of Columbia, KY

  • One grandson: Mark Hylton

  • Three brothers: Woody Burton and wife Pat of Columbia, KY; Davis Lee Burton of Gary, Indiana; and Carl Eugene Burton of Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Elizabeth Ann Burton of Columbia, KY; Carolyn Burton & husband Coy of Columbia, KY; and Dorinda Streeval & husband Jeff of Columbia, KY

  • One special nephew: Keith Streeval

  • One special niece: Kelly Streeval Wooley

  • Several other nieces and nephews
