He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was a retired employee of Tennessee Gas Transmissions, primarily serving in construction. He was a native of LaRue County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County, KY, at the time of his death. He leaves 7 living descendants, in Taylor, Adair, and Green Counties of South Central KY.

Jody Blond Underwood, 88, of Campbellsville, KY died at 6:20pmCT, Saturday, February 15, 2014 in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service for Jody Blond Underwood will be at 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY by Pastor Wayne Brooks. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with Full Military Honors by Lebanon Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Jody Blond Underwood, Taylor County, KY (1925-2014)

Jody Blond Underwood of Campbellsville, KY, was the son of the late Fred Underwood and Lela Skaggs Underwood. He was born in Larue County, Kentucky, Wednesday, March 11, 1925. He died at Saturday, February 15, 2014 in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was a retired employee of Tennessee Gas Transmissions, primarily serving in construction.

He united in marriage to Cleo Blakeman February 1, 1947.

Besides his wife, Cleo Underwood, he is survived by the following:
  • His son and his wife: Michael T. and Brenda Underwood of ElkHorn, KY

  • Two granddaughters and husbands: Cathy and Shaun Murray of Greensburg, KY; and Stephanie and Joey Conn of Columbia; KY

  • Four grandsons: Dylan Conn, Dawson Conn, Dax Conn, and Casen Murray

  • One brother: Charles Underwood of Shepherdsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Joseph Dane Conn; one brother and three sisters: Otis Underwood, Dorothy Glidewell, Essie Perkins, and Pauline Sidebottom.

Family request expressions of sympathy be donations to the loving caretakers at Heartsong Memory Care Employee Fund and may be made at The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
