Mildred Brown Emerson, Russell Co., KY, Adair Co., KY native (1925-2014)

She was a native of Adair County, KY, a member of a highly regarded family with strong ties in Adair and Russell Counties. She was the daughter of the late George Alvin & Willa Belle Shepherd Brown, and sister of Fred Brown, who survives, of Columbia. She was a homemaker and a member of the Russell Springs First Baptist Church. She leaves 12 direct living descendants.

Mildred Emerson, 88, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral services for Mildred Emerson will be 10amCT, Saturday, February 15, 2104 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Friday at the Russell Springs First Baptist Church, 392 E Kentucky 80, Russell Springs, K, and after 8amCT, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial in the Russell Springs City Cemetery.

She was born April 30, 1925 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late George Alvin & Willa Belle Shepherd Brown. She died Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Jamestown, KY, at the age of 88 years, nine months, and 11 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Russell Springs First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Wendell Swanson Survivors include the following:
  • Daughter: Linda Loy and her husband, Jerry, Russell Springs, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Seven great grandchildren

  • Brother: Fred Brown and his wife, Betty, Columbia, KY
