Clara J. Barnes, 65, of W Hwy 619, Russell Springs, KY, died at 1:33pm, Sunday, February 9, 2014, at the University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington, KY.

Services for Clara A Barnes will be at 1pmCT, Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, with Bro. Bill Welker the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 W. Highway 80, Nancy, KY. Visitation will be after 11amCT, at the H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel.

She was born August 12, 1948, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Glen & DeLean (Abston) Thrasher. She died Sunday, February 9, 2014, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 65 years, 5 months, and 28 days.

She was an educator.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Barnes, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • A son: Brian, husband of Erin Barnes, Jamestown, KY

  • A daughter: Clara Suzanne, wife of Jason Smith, Rochester, NY

  • A brother: Donald Thrasher, Columbia, KY

  • A sister: Sue Cash, of West Virginia
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.

The H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, in charge of arrangements.
